Martorana fruit is a paste made from almonds, the fruit shape is made from a cast and then painted until it looks real. It was born in 1500 when the nuns of the Martorana Convent in Palermo painted sweets to embellish the fruit trees of their garden on the occasion of an important autumn visit.
With our pastry chefs or with the inn owner you will learn how to make almond paste, how to shape it and finally paint it, to the point that you won’t want to eat it so as not to ruin such a beautiful masterpiece.
You’ll bring the secret back home with you and make it again in your kitchens.
